The Book of Cold Cases by Simone St. James

5.0

I was SO EXCITED when my BOTM order arrived so quickly this month! Of course I was a little behind and didn’t get to it until a while later, but still, knowing they were here waiting for me was exciting. I have wanted this book since I knew about it. I waited for it anxiously. Once I cracked it open and started to read, I couldn’t stop. I even had my husband to daycare pickup so I could steal an extra 45 minutes of reading time!

Part time true crime blogger Shea Collins has been through a lot in her life and has turned mostly inward. Shea works as a receptionist at a doctors office but her spare time is spent immersed in murders. She starts looking into a cold case from the 70’s in the same town she lives. Men were shot in the face at close range, and while the police thought they had their person, Beth Greer, she was acquitted and set free. Beth has kept to herself and led a quiet life in her dark mansion and refused all interviews. That is until she meets Shea at the doctors office one day. Shea requests an interview from Beth and much to her surprise Beth grants it. As Shea digs deeper and more truths are uncovered she desperately wants to learn the startling truth – but it could cost her life.

This was a riveting, fun read and I quickly devoured it in one sitting. I gave it 5/5 stars
