The Help by Kathryn Stockett
5.0
I made the "mistake" of watching the movie before reading the book so I basically knew how to book would play out. There were some key differences between the book and movie, but I really think the movie was just as good as the book. Usually, movies don't do books justice but this one did.
The book, though, gave more of a glimpse into the minds and thoughts of Skeeter, Aibileen, and Minny. The language of Aibileen and Minny took some getting used to, but it was all very REAL.
I felt that the relationship between Skeeter and Stuart was a lot more believable in the book than it was in the movie. In the movie, he wasn't very likable and that plot line seemed to be thrown in there without any thought.
It's a great book, though. Definitely a must read. (The movie is one of the best of 2011, no doubt.)
