I read this because I’m reading Ephron’s Writing and Selling Your Mystery Novel guide and really enjoying it so far. Then I realized I should read her writing to see how she implements the advice she shares! I’m going to stick with the writing guide because it has great advice and includes other writers, but this book was a slog for me. I figured out most of the twists really early and felt the book hung on them too much. So with the slow pace and relatively low stakes, it was really hard to push through and finish this one.
