"I messed up, but I want you to be mine. No, I need you to say you're mine. Because I am yours with no ulterior motives. I love you, Chloe."
this could easily be adapted into a romcon, it was easy to read, a basic premise, a lot cliches but still it was enjoyable. nothing out of the ordinary or groundbreaking but I still liked it.
both character had their own resolutions and goals, but I didn't like how we got to see more of barret's than chloe's. somehow, even tho they both at something at stake, we only get to continuously read about his plans and goals–the deal with fred, but with chloe, it's like there's nothing else but having to be his girlfriend. we don't get to see her doing much about this event that's helpful for her career, it's like if you do a close up she's just there for the romantic part of the story and nothing more.
I mean I still liked the romance part, I liked how she wasn't an inexperienced virgin innocent girl, she had had boyfriends and still got to be very vocal about what she wanted etc
I did felt barret very immature, I mean both of them felt immature at times for some of their age. at first I thought it's okay it's not like they're that old anyway but sometimes they had issues that were very teenager-like.
anyway, I'm up to read the next books, because I don't except much either, just for entertainment and to believe in love this will do just fine.
