Extra Virginity: The Sublime and Scandalous World of Olive Oil by Tom Mueller
informative
slow-paced
3.5
This was a really interesting book, but I felt like it didn’t have a clear enough through line. The beginning, learning about EVOO and what good olive oil is, was interesting, but the rest felt like a series of vignettes. I talked to this olive grower who can’t make money because of fraud, I talked to that olive grower who can’t make money because of fraud, etc etc. on one hand I learned some stuff and am inspired to go taste really good olive oil, on the other I feel like I didn’t retain most of the details and often spaced out.
