The Giver of Stars by Jojo Moyes

I loovveedd this book! I’d never heard of the packhorse library, and it was fascinating and amazing to learn about. I loved the exploration of feminism in a time when gender roles were still very constrained and rigid, and how the narrative allowed space for the women to be all things at once. I also didn’t know the love stories would be so breathtaking and moving, and that was the most pleasant surprise. The juxtaposition between a long-term relationship that is nurturing, compassionate, and healthy, and a connection that is potentially just starting to bloom, was really beautiful. This book left me smiling from ear to ear. I also loved the writing and the details of the landscape and town - it was really easy to visualize the scenery.
