Should Have Been by Evey Lyon
3.0
I want to start off by thanking Wordsmith Publicity and Evey Lyon for the arc of this book. It was so wonderful to be back in Lake Spark I found myself missing this small town.
I want to start off with the positives of this book. I really enjoyed Summer and Nash…especially the flashbacks into their relationship. I felt we really got to know them and what happened between the two of them that drove them apart. There is so much chemistry between Nash and Summer you can feel it through the book. I loved Nash and his urge to be there for Summer and her child. I also loved his relationship with Summer’s child. My heart broke for Summer and her internal thoughts on how she felt. I just wanted to reach in and hug her and tell her everything was ok and was going to be ok.
Here is where I struggled. I really really wish that Nash had just communicated with Summer about everything. I hated that he walked away and his brother basically got to live the life he wanted with Summer.
I also felt personally it was an odd “competition” thing for Nash’s brother about him being Summer’s first husband but Nash get’s to be her last it bothered me and kind of made me mad so I had a hard time ever liking Bo because of all that.
However, I still love Evey lyon and her books and I can’t wait to see what she comes out with next.
