An informative book, but being as this book is written by Silicon Valley Captains of Industry it is all reverence and little self-reflection. Bill Campbell could behave this way and gain access to the spaces he did because he was a white cis straight man. The rest of us will have a hard time making head way with this tough as nails direct approach. That said, I did come away liking the old dude. The conclusion is that the big challenges of the world require great teams and great teams come from great coaches. Coaches care, love, include, prod and poke in the service of helping us meet our potential. Coaching is a labor of love, a practice of care.
