Trail of the Lost: The Relentless Search to Bring Home the Missing Hikers of the Pacific Crest Trail by Andrea Lankford

A really interesting take on the challenge of finding (dead) hikers that have gone missing on the PCT. Apparently, plenty of hikers go missing every year, and generally you can find them/their remains over time. However, some cases are never really solved because you never really find the person that is missing (don't even find their remains). This book is about the search for some hikers that vanished on the PCT trail. Despite a lot of searching, finding different types of evidence, interviewing witnesses, etc., they just never find some of these people. That's just... tough. If you are a family you don't 'truly' have closure because the 'what if' is still a possibility.
