I finally finished the Grim Lovelies Sequel! This one took me a while and I got a little uninterested for a bit. 😩 I liked the start and end well enough, but some of the middle was just confusing in my opinion and I really struggled to stay interested when so much was going on. I’m glad I finished it though, and I still love the world and characters.
I loved Petra and Cricket, the two girls who had the most personality. I feel like Petra’s growth was really interesting, though we don’t get to see as much of Cricket in the sequel. Anouk got slightly annoying at the end, as did the love triangle. I feel like the plot twist at the end was sort of unnecessary too. Rennar was just…overhyped the entire series.
The world-building is probably my favorite part though. I love the Goblins and witches especially, and how the author gave magic a limit and consequence. I’d recommend reading at least the first book to get a taste of this world, and then continue to the second if you want to see what happens. I’m glad I read them, and I’m happy to have them on my shelves!
