Deliverance by James Dickey

5.0

The story moves as turbulently as the rapids of the Cahulawassee River. By putting the book down you risk tipping over the canoe and dampening the flowing fabric of greatness. Be greedy in your escapist pursuits. If you haven't seen the movie, take a day off from work with this book and an expensive whiskey that you would otherwise find unpalatable. James Dickey infuses the elegance of his poetry into prose and his first novel is a classic piece of modern American literature.

"Is it my fault?"

"Lord, no" I said, but it partly was, just as it's any woman's fault who represents normalcy.
