King of Scars by Leigh Bardugo
5.0

Well, there's absolutely no surprise here that I absolutely loved this.
Like most of Leigh's books, it took me between 50-100 pages to get into it, but once I did I was REALLY into it.
I super loved all the narrative's but I'm surprised to admit that Zoya's was my favorite. I liked her character, but she was never a favorite of mine. Until now. This book made me fall so completely in love with her. I won't put any spoilers in this review, but I will say that I am super pumped to see how her story arc plays out in the next book.
Nikolai was, of course, magnificent. I love him so much and I love his humble arrogancy (how does he do that?!) I just really adore him and am so thankful to Leigh for writing this!
The beginning of Nina's narrative sorta annoyed me, because Mathias was never my favorite character. That being said, I think it make total sense that she is still mourning him and I cannot fault her for that. She loved him. I did end up enjoying her part, but mostly after Hanne was introduced. I really came to love Hanne and I can't wait to see what she and Nina get up to in the next installment.
I adored all the little callbacks to both the Grisha Trilogy and Six of Crows. I do hope Kaz and the other crows make an appearance in the next book.
No spoilers, BUT THAT MOTHERFUCKING ENDING?? I don't know whether to be excited or not.. I can see it being interesting, but I am also kinda scared. We will see how that plays out.
King of Scars was a wonderful addition to the Grishaverse and I cannot wait for more!!
