The Disreputable History of Frankie Landau-Banks by E. Lockhart

5.0

I really enjoyed this book. It's just so great. A good story of a girl who wants to be seen for who she is, not what she is...a girl. I liked Frankie. She's an intelligent and strong-willed girl. Unfortunately, she's stuck in an environment that doesn't allow her to thrive. There is a lot of misogynistic culture surrounding her. A lot of the males around her (and even some female role models) are condescending and treat her like a child. They don't appreciate everything she has to offer. I just loved how she was able to be such an intensely powerful character within her own right, even though it may not have been appreciated along the way.
