One of my reading goals for August was to re-read a book. So, I chose Our Secret Song by Emily C. Childs. This was my third time reading this book, and I loved it this time around as much as the first. I actually never wanted to review this book because I wanted it to just be a book for me, but that’s sort of silly, right?! The first time I read this book, in 2021, I devoured it. Loved every second of Alexis and Bridger’s back-and-forth banter and wit. This time around, in 2024, I still love Alexis and Bridger’s fiery back-and-forth. It actually reminds me of Benedick and Beatrice’s snarky banter in Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing. It definitely made me chuckle as much this time as the first time. Alexis and Bridger have known each other since birth. They have had a back-and-forth as long as they can remember, but they’ve also been each other’s safety nets. Growing up, their lives were filled with heavy stuff. I’m talking seriously heavy stuff. But they are their for one another. This is my favorite part of the book. I love Alexis and Bridger’s relationship — the bickering, the friendship, the love, being there for one through thick and thin. They’re so darn cute, and quite a good example of being a real friend no matter what. I also love their chemistry. Clearly, Alexis and Bridger are meant to be together, but it takes them some time to really understand and accept this. The journey to their happily ever after is such a fun ride. I loved every minute of this journey the first time I read this book, and I wholeheartedly loved every second the third time around.

Our Secret Song is a highly engaging and totally endearing Contemporary Romance. I cannot recommend this book enough. If you are looking for a fast-paced, endearing, heartfelt Contemporary Romance, then this is definitely the story for you!
