Lost Stars by Claudia Gray

4.0

here they are. some brand new star wars characters enveloped easily into the star wars lore. to complain about how we're supposed to sympathize with cienna is to miss the point. balances romance and action/adventure beautifully. also, it is truly a young adult novel set in the star wars universe, as opposed to a star wars novel, you know.
anyway, if it were me, i'd take it further away from the action of the rebellion and the Star Wars itself, if only to keep cienna stupid, to let us really sympathize with the Real Cogs in the Imperial Machine. instead cienna is a decorated imperial officer who found herself at every major battle, which makes her hard to root for. (to compare it to rae sloane who i am familiar with from a new dawn. seems to be far away from the atrocities of the empire. just some girl who wants to do her job.)
on the other hand, darth vader made a ridiculous and dramatic appearance, so a+
