Birth: The Surprising History of How We Are Born by Tina Cassidy

4.0

A truly fascinating and sometimes horrifying look at the history of obstetrics and the way the birthing process has evolved over the years. Trigger warnings abound, especially for infant death, and it’s not for those who are squeamish about medical procedures. This book was published in 2006, so it’s a bit dated, considering there was no real discussion about race and how the birthing process has been and is so much different for people of color.
