Flowers in the Attic by V.C. Andrews
2.0
If you’re reading it because *that part* has been spoiled to you and you’re curious as to what goes down: Yup. It happens. And that’s kind of it.
Most of the book is spent with the four children as they slowly are starved, tortured, and abandoned, with an ending that is both unsatisfying and groan-worthy. I actually expected the contents to be more shocking what with how people talk about it, but unless you’re still living in the late 70s and/or haven’t read any ‘uncomfy’ books before, you’re likely not going to enjoy what remains when the shock factors fall away.
