The Beasts of Grimheart by Kieran Larwood
4.0
Bullet review:
+The main characters are still pretty interesting and likable. Even Pook becomes interesting in the framing device.
+An engaging story.
+I loved Krum's subplot.
-While it's less obvious than in the previous installment, I still think this book doesn't do a very good job of justifying these children going on dangerous quests and journeys in the middle of a war. The reasons usually just boils down to "because prophecy" and that just feels like a lazy excuse by the author to get the child characters involved in a plot they otherwise have no business being involved in.
