This is Not a Book About Benedict Cumberbatch by Tabitha Carvan

funny inspiring lighthearted fast-paced

5.0

I expected this book to just be about fandom, but I was surprised to find that it was about the joy that we as humans find in seemingly ridiculous things, and how maybe it's not so ridiculous, especially for women. Women's interests are often seen as silly and frivolous, even when men are equally as excited about things like sports and cars, and so when women develop a really intense interest in a band, an actor, a TV show, they feel like they have to hide it. This book makes a compelling case for not caring about what other people might think, and unabashedly loving what you love.
