“It can be seductive and cunning. Darkness wears many faces, and some of those faces can seem, at first, like allies.”
This was the finale that this series deserved. After devoting so much time, energy, and love into these characters, it actually feels sad to say goodbye; I haven't felt this way about a book series in a long time. This book was amazing. It was a rollercoaster of emotions the whole way through, full of action, great dialogue, and amazing plot.. I hate to say it, but I actually wish these books were larger. I feel that there are so many amazing and dynamic characters introduced, and even though we get snippets of all of them, there isn't enough time to truly delve into them all the way I would like, particularly Neferet. I love that she .
I love this series regardless of the fact that it is problematic (in more ways than one), cringy, cheesy, and poorly written. I am glad I chose to re-read these books, and I can't wait for my first read-through of the spinoff series.

Kalona's death and redemption absolutely destroyed me, but I loved getting to see him return to Nyx. Additionally, Erik finally got the ending he deserved, and I loved that him and Shaunee had a spark in the end.Spoiler
went out like the dark Goddess she is, but I feel that her character could have been fleshed out so much more. Her backstory is absolutely and truly devastating, and even though she got her own novella, I don't think her trauma was properly addressed. It was used as a way to explain her trafficking with Darkness, and then tossed aside. I think she deserves better.I love this series regardless of the fact that it is problematic (in more ways than one), cringy, cheesy, and poorly written.
