Dreamers of the Day by Mary Doria Russell

4.0

Fascinating story with a really strong main character and interesting historical figures woven into the story.

It's set in 1921, mostly in Egypt. Made me think that I really ought to know more about that time and place. Much of the political history involves the creation of various modern-day countries (Iraq and Jordan, for instance). Beautiful writing.

Odd last section, though.
