This was enjoyable and more romantic than I thought it would be but jfc some of the character decisions pissed me off so much.
Please go into this knowing that Jordan loved to cook and clean and look after the house for her man. Obviously that’s not an issue automatically if she enjoys it, but for me it was a little disconcerting to have such obvious reinforcement of traditional gender roles while also having such a big power dynamic in both age difference and income/living situation.
The third act breakup felt really stupid to me as it was easily avoidable. I also feel like Pike was not acting mature enough for his age, which obviously people of any age can have dumb moments but mans kept pointing out how much more life experience he had but he doesn’t even know how to stop and think before speaking.
But I did find the relationship believable enough, as both of them clearly got emotional connection (and also physical lol) out of it. There were some very tender moments between the two which I appreciated.
Overall was entertaining with a bunch of minor grievances.
