I've had this book on my TBR for over two years now, and I don't want to say that it exceeded my expectations, but it didn't disappoint either. It was a very fun and quick read, and I don't think the purpose was really to change your life; this book seems to be much more an entertainment romance book than it is a life-changing novel. When I say this was a quick read, I mean so quick. I got to the end and I literally did not process that I was already at the end. I think it just felt so quick because we got all this build-up to the romance, but then ultimately, it was kind of anti-climatic, and I just think that the parts where the romance is supposed to be building just got lost in all of Daisy's inner thoughts about everything. Not that that's a bad thing, as it made this book pretty fun and qUirKy, it's just we got stuff... kiss and all this romantic love declaration and adorable interaction over a span of like 40 pages, and then it was over. And the ending was just thrown in there like... wow... what a surprise.
Overall, I didn't hate it. It was cute, and funny, and fed my current interest in reading/watching stories about a monarchy, but it just felt quite abrupt and rushed when it had lots of potential.
