Persist by Elizabeth Warren
5.0
Elizabeth Warren's latest book was inspired by the chalk drawings on the sidewalk outside of her home following her withdrawal from the Presidental primary, one of which said, "Persist." A lot of her personal story, she's shared in previous books and on the campaign trail for both her Senate and Presidential candidacy, but, in this book, she includes stories of those she's met along the way, and the pinky promises she's made to continue to fight for the working class and women, in particular. She looks at women a lot in this book, including the hardships that mothers face when needing to work but are expected to be home raising their children, the challenges in families finding adequate childcare, and, as always, the banking industry that has trapped people in financial hardship. I listened to the audiobook, which is narrated by Warren, and it's hard not to be inspired when she is so passionate about the work that she does for America's middle class.
