Ahh, JTHM... It's cringey, it's cheesy, it's *slightly* problematic, and after reading it for the 4th time, I still love it!! The art style is cool, it's funny, and it's weirdly relateable (I'm not a murderer ofc). Very teen angst, but in the way that I find enjoyable! The text is a bit hard to read though. Not really sure how to review it objectively, but I can tell you that I personally love the book/comics, and definitely recommend it to whoever likes dark humour, angst, gothic aesthetics, and gore (I'm actually really not into gore, but the way it's depicted in JTHM doesn't bother me and is balanced out by other elements to the story and art). It's also a very quick read, can definitely be read in one or two days.
Graphic: Bullying, Cursing, Death, Mental illness, Suicidal thoughts, and Blood
Moderate: Mental illness, Suicide, and Torture
Minor: Addiction, Body horror, Child abuse, Confinement, Drug abuse, Sexual assault, Torture, and Vomit
This comic is pretty content warning heavy, but it's mainly meant to be darkly humourous, so a lot of it is somewhat light hearted and doesn't go very deep into the topics, and the visual depictions aren't very realistic or overly detailed. That being said, this comic is not good for you if you are very sensitive to gore and s*uice/death, and I definitely would not recommend anyone under the age of 14 to read it.
