When the World Was Ours by Liz Kessler

5.0

I don't have much to say on this, but only because I'm not great at speaking into WHY I loved or disliked any certain book, one way or the other. However, I will say that I found this to be SUCH a good book. It was fast yet thorough. It follows three children who all go through the war differently. It tells three beautiful stories that all ring true. I found myself understanding the young nazi. It showed how the way he was raised and the propaganda and indoctrination of their ideas really shaped who he turned out to be. Lol and Elsa both had heart-breakingly beautiful stories as well, and the conclusion was honest, but again, beautiful. I loved this story.
