Pucking Around by Emily Rath
3.5
Rachel definitely had the most growth out of all of the characters. I loved her a lot, she was so relatable and was honestly the only character other than the uncooperative goalie, Mars that I felt like made some sense. I will say I do think that Rachel was selfish in the beginning. The whole relationship secret stuff made me mad, but only because of her reasons.
Jake, Mars, and Caleb are all three SO drastically different, but all so loving and it definitely shows that you can get different love, to fulfill all your needed love. But I didn’t like Jake and Caleb’s relationship line. I felt like it wasn’t really explained or explored much and it felt almost unfair to them. I will say I wasn’t expecting the MM romance, but I’m also bad about reading spoilers and the synopsis bc I hate doing that. But on that note, I did like the MM romance, it isn’t the first time I read it so it wasn’t bad and I wasn’t upset about it.
I do think the plot kind of got lost throughout the novel, but there is 700+ pages and it was hard for me to keep the plot straight through all the spice
