I've seen a lot of adaptations of this, but had never read the original. I have this beautiful cloth-bound edition and read it in tandem with Joel Leslie's narration. (He really stretched his vocal chops with this one; it could have been a voice demo reel for all the accents he included.) I also appreciated how fresh this felt, the language was playful, not stodgy with anachronisms. A perennial classic for a reason!
