Captain's Fury by Jim Butcher

I'm so much in love with these characters - the good ones, the bad ones, the ones that don't know if they are the good or the bad ones. They are all fantastic and and every single one contributes to the story in a way.

Tavi - I love him. His determination. His trust. His faith. His everything. I love, love, love that he is still learning to work and control his furies. That he can't manifest one yet. That he still relies more on his wit and will than on his furies. That he is still true to himself. The way he identified himself as Gaius Octavian? His realisation that nothing will be the way it was before after he takes the next breath and says what he has to say? ♥__♥

This book was a bit Max light :( but Ehren heavy :) and I adore Kitai. I adore Isana and Kitai bonding.

I love how these characters aren't just black and white. That a good guy does something that is normaly a bad character does in order to save people (First Lord) and that a character doesn't know on which side they are and a wavering between good and bad (Marcus).

The story itself was once again thrilling and just good. I love the way Tavi reacted when Araris told him that Isana is his mother and that he is Octavian. I love Tavi's reactions to Isana and just everything about him. I love how he found a solution for the conflict with the Cane and he goes the way that maybe isn't within the law but is the only way to save people, to stop a war, to stop killing.

The Amara, Bernard and Sextus storyline wasn't as thrilling as the Tavi one but I still enjoyed it. If that was Sextus did was right or wrong? I don't know. I can get behind his reasoning but I'm not sure if he couldn't have found another way. :/

All in all a fantastic part in this series.
