Another skim-to-the-end. This was recommended based on my love of the book Eileen. Um, no. Lucy is no Eileen. I found her to be a very unrealistic character. Maybe if she’d been younger, I could excuse her immaturity and lack of experience. I don’t mind unlikeable protagonists, but you gotta give me something to work with. Even the main romantic storyline was boring. How can a magical realism merman story be this boring??
