Becoming Built by T.H. Compton

Oh my, Emmett, sweet, hurting, grumpy Emmett, how I love thee and want to wrap you up and adore you.

Grumpy men are my kryptonite, but as a chronic pain sufferer, my heart bleeds for the fear of his prognosis, the pain, the depression, and the desire to hide from the world. Thankful for the little bar family that loves him fiercely as he is and will do anything for him.

Enter James, a bit of a wandering soul who shows up for the security job at the bar. He definitely looks the part of a bouncer, but that boy has the sweetest heart. And what he quickly realizes is that what he wants the most, is to see Emmett smile and laugh. He wants to be the one to cause that.

I love how sweet these two big men are together, and I especially love how James pulls Emmett out of his shell and helps him break down some of his walls. He’s incredibly patient, and it’s perfect.

This is a fast-moving love story, but it’s satisfying and wholesome.
