The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood
5.0
I listened to this on Audible and I’m still trying to figure out how to put into words how I feel about this one. It’s hard to say that I ‘loved’ this story, when it made me feel so uneasy. Atwood is a masterful storyteller and I thought her world building of this eerie dystopian society was so well done. Claire Danes was an AMAZING narrator—not sure if I would have felt the same about it had I read it on my own. Offred is an incredible character, and she will stay with me as a reader for a long time. The story will stick with me as well, as it has opened my mind to so many “what if...” and “could that happen...” questions. I’m looking forward to finally allowing myself to watch the Hulu adaptation!
