And the series ends.
This one felt more action packed and that was because so much was happening as the characters moved from one part to another, sometimes on their own and others as a group. The final weapons of the light were found and the battle was staged.
There was heartbreak for some characters and hard choices for all. The book kept me entertained throughout. In this one I feel like the Drew children were the chess pieces moved from site to site. they didn't have that much input, with the exception of Jane who again shone through with her goodness.
I wished there was more from the final battle scene at the end, but I think that is from reading other fantasy books that have fantastic battle scenes, so I hoping for the same, but this one fell a little flat in that part.
I found it interesting that I picked up certain things through this reading as an adult that I ignored or just didn't see as an adolescent. That being the way both sides manipulated people around them. The light went just as hard as the dark and also didn't show any care or mercy at times for teh destruction they left behind. I also found that the kids were often led into dangerous situations or just left to wander into them, all for the pursuit of cause. These parts didn't sit well with me throughout the series.
As a whole I've enjoyed this trip down memory lane
