Hello Stranger by Katherine Center

5.0

Wow. Usually, I find Center’s empathetic love stories as a cozy middle-ground between cute and cathartic, but this one not only achieved that, but more. What’s one word I could use to describe this story about an artist grappling with an untimely newfound disability? Well: creative. Without spoiling its exciting twists and turns, this book expertly follows traditional romance beats while paradoxically turning them on their heads at the same time. The brilliant way it weaves in neuropsychology and family-systems trauma is the icing on the cake. Easily my favorite of this author’s works, even surpassing favorites like How to Walk Away and What You Wish For.
