Assistant to the Villain has such a unique concept. The story takes place in a fantasy world that has humorous elements of contemporary culture, and I've never seen this done before. I loved getting to know Evie and the Villain, particularly the way trauma from their past catches up with them. While I was left wondering certain details about the magic system, overall, I enjoyed the lightheartedness of this story and look forward to reading the next one.
