Exit West by Mohsin Hamid

The more this book sits with me, the higher I think about it. Its vision of the near future (from when it was written a year or so before the pandemic) is nuanced. The careful and astute delineation of the slow descent of a relationship is ultimately the focus, but is it there to illustrate the subtle shift to Western values from the diaspora of refugees? Don’t ask me. I’m just a dude.
