Wonder by R.J. Palacio
5.0
Everyone in the world should get a standing ovation at least once in their life because we all overcometh the world.—Auggie
Wonder is one of those books. They come out, people read them, and they get all this hype. Then, there I sit and I am so doubtful that the book will live up to all the hype. So, I wait for the hype to die down, and when I feel ready—or I want to beat the release of a movie—I go for it. Most of the time.
I'm so glad I went for it with Wonder. It really did live up to all the hoopla surrounding it. Though we get multiple POVs throughout, and it may end up tied with a neater bow than real life might necessarily warrant, this was ultimately a book about kindness. And there's never enough of that in the world.
