The Lost Sister by Elinora Pane, Alexa H. Michaels
3.0
I enjoyed this book but ultimately was disappointed.
The premise, characters and world building all had immense potential, but it just didn't stick the landing for me. I am still debating if I am intrigued enough to read the second and final installment when it is released.
The premise was very intriguing; however, I found the pacing to be a little off with a constant stream of problems being resolved too easily or not at all and I found myself with many more questions by the end than I would like.
I found the main character to be kind of annoying as she continued to make reckless, silly decisions without any concept of consequences and expecting others to simply forgive and forget. The other main character was lacking so much depth she felt lifeless. I also found the love interests to be very two dimensional.
One thing I did enjoy was the world building. At the beginning there was a bit of info dumping but that's to be expected with a high fantasy, especially when there are only two books to set it up in.
Overall, as I said I did enjoy the book (even if it doesn't sound like it from this review), I just expected more.
