The Southern Book Club's Guide to Slaying Vampires by Grady Hendrix
3.25
I liked this book. It started out strong, got you wrapped up in the characters and their dynamics, threw in the mysterious stranger, and some weird happenings, but then right as you think you're getting ready to jump into the heart of it (i.e. vampire slaying), the rug is pulled out from under you. It confused me, and there's a big chunk of the middle of the book that I didn't find to be very necessary and was disjointed from the rest of the story. But the ending is satisfactory, so it does all come together.
I'd recommend the book, but I'd recommend listening to the audio so you're not slogged down in the weird chapters.
