Echoes of You by Catherine Cowles
5.0
“Loving someone is always a risk, but you risk just as much by holding back.”
Seriously, everything this woman writes is pure gold. It will make you feel all the feelings and hug your loved ones close. It’ll make you crave the protective and sensitive guys she creates and thank you lucky stars you aren’t in the situations the women in her stories are forced to live through (at least hopefully you’re not in them too).
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, Catherine Cowles is the queen of romantic suspense and I cannot get her stories out of my head – nor do I want to.
Maddie and Nash are friendship AND relationship goals. They take care of each other and no one makes them feel the way the other manages to. And when Maddie is on the run from the second abusive man in her life? No one can help protect her better than Nash. And even if Maddie is a seriously strong and impressive FMC and doesn’t technically need protecting, no one makes her feel safer than Nash – her lifelong best friend who has shown her what genuine love means.
I’m obsessed with this series (Lost & Found Series). Each book can be read as a standalone, but don’t deprive yourself of her other books!
TW: domestic abuse
“People didn’t realize what a dangerous emotion hope could be.”
Tropes:
- Small town
- Heroine in hiding
- Forced proximity
- Childhood best friends
- Friends to lovers
- It’s always been you
- Touch her and you die vibes
- One bed
- Romantic suspense
“I’d rather have the echoes of him than anyone else.”
