One eyelid peeled open, revealing a sliver of blue. “I’m a vampire,” he deadpanned. “Don’t you read books? I can’t come inside unless I’m invited.”

I am glad I wasn't expecting anything when I picked this up because I would have been so disappointed otherwise.

It's not that it is inherently bad, things didn't click. The heroine is odd, the hero is also odd, their oddness doesn't fit together. And not odd in a good way.

There might be a story in there somewhere. We'll see...
