Their Freefall At Last by Julie Olivia
5.0
Julie Olivia created such a fun and unique world within this series that I cannot sing my praises enough. This friend group was everything and watching them find their forever loves had my heart so happy. While I am sad to see it end my heart is BURSTING for Ruby and Bennett ending the series finding their way to each other finally.
I knew from their intro into book one that they were going to be my favorite couple because the history combined with the chemistry was going to be amazing and it blew my expectations out of the water honestly. My heart was both shattered and mended with this book, the journey that Ruby and Bennett went on was painful because you could feel the love they had for each other, it ran so deep that when they kept hitting obstacles keeping them apart I swear I was experiencing their heartbreak, which is compliments to the author truly lol. I loved everything about Bennett, his bad boy persona when he was really a cuddly teddy bear especially for Ruby was perfection. Ruby finding her voice throughout the story was one of my favorite parts honestly, I loved getting to watch her grow into a person who went after what she wanted with and without the help from her best friend. The tattoos, the inside jokes, THE BRACELETS, literally everything about their love was perfection for me I can't even think of another word to use because it was so perfect lol.
I greatly appreciated how the author handled the wedding fiasco because it was dealt with in a manner that was not icky and provided closure for everyone involved, which was what I was worried about as I was unsure how it was going to go down. Even though Jolene's feelings were valid and real I totally wanted nothing to do with her but respected her departure from the book and in the end liked how the author brought her into their future as well.
I really enjoyed the timeline of this book, going through their history from childhood friends to heartbroken adults who felt out of reach from each other before finally finding their way to their "soulmates" was *chef's kiss.* I could not put this book down, starting and finishing it today because I was lost completely in the story.
Seeing all the five friends find their soulmates and seeing them grow into happy families in the epilogue made me so incredibly happy! Honeywood fun park was such a special place to them all and I adored how it felt like a side character in all of their journeys! Not to spoil anything but I loved the direction she went in for Ruby and Bennett's future, it was refreshing as someone who sees their future turning out similarly family-wise. I just adored every second of this book and truly cannot recommend it enough, easily my favorite book of this month, it's a no-brainer. Excited to continue along for the ride of Julie Olivia's releases!
