Daisy Jones & The Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid
5.0
When I first heard about the book, I was skeptical if a story about a Rock'n'Roll band that didn't exist and songs that were never recorded could be captured successfully in writing alone. After reading the book, I'm blown away by it. When Reid wrote about songwriting, I could hear the guitar sounds in my head. When she wrote about concerts, I felt like I was standing in a crowd, cheering and screaming with thousands of other people. The sex, the drugs, the Rock'n'Roll and the legendary music scene of the 1970's, it was all there.
I highly recommend this book to everyone who loves music. It's hopeful and devastating at the same time, the writing is beautiful and the band has great characters to root for. The only thing that let me down is that I can't buy their albums.
I listened to the audiobook, which I can highly recommend, especially because the narrator of Daisy Jones has one of the most beautiful voices I've ever heard.
