I had fun reading this book, and I was invested in some of the characters, but it got to the point where I couldn't suspend my disbelief. The plot twists were unexpected and exciting, but I felt overwhelmed by the amount of lore in this universe and wish it had be explored more deeply. Too much information, not enough implications. As a side note, I /think/ one of the characters was confirmed as bi. The scene that implied it confused me, but I kept going, because I really thought it was going to be addressed explicitly later. Oh well. He's bi in my heart.
