In Five Years by Rebecca Serle
4.0
Have you ever wanted to see into your future just a little bit?
Well that's what happens to Dannie Kohan, except it was not what she was expecting.
Dannie lives her life by numbers, and she has it all planned out. Rather she thought she did, until that dream. That dream so real, but it couldn't be real... Right? What she saw in her dream was five years from that moment and was not part of her numbered plan. Dannie tries to let that dream go until the day four and a half years down the road she meets her best friend, Bellas, new boyfriend and it all comes crashing back. It's HIM from her dream. What does this mean? Why is this happening?
Life returns to somewhat normal, HE is still in it. With her best friend. But maybe it was all just a dream, they're so in love it seems like they belong together. Then one morning on vacation, Bella tells Dannie she thinks she's pregnant, they go ge a test and its positive! The news is so exciting, until Bella goes in for her ultra sound and they discover something no one was expecting.
Buckle up, this road is going to get bumpy.
SPOILER ALERT
This has been on my to be read list for awhile, being a horror fan I have to be in the mood to read anything other than my chosen genre.
I was not prepared for this book, but I don't regret reading it. The unexpected Ovarian Cancer turn this book took hit hard. Being a person who had a love one who had Ovarian Cancer, was there throughout their Chemo, but luckily survive, it's really hard to deal with these feelings even years later. The book was so accurate in the way this was discussed it brought me back to those appointments.
As hard as it was to read through those parts, this book was so incredibly wonderful. We never know how much time we have, and just because we think we have it all planned out, we never truly do.
