What You Are Looking For Is in the Library by Michiko Aoyama

5.0

CALLING ALL FANS OF THE MIDNIGHT LIBRARY AND BEFORE THE COFFEE GETS COLD, RUN DON’T WALK.

I never EVER write reviews on here, that’s typically saved for my booktube channel but I just have to relay to you how special this book (and worthy of you picking it up!) We are following 5 people who all visit the same library, and a very almost supernatural, eccentric librarian who KNOWS exactly what each individual needs (not what they are out rightly asking her for). Each of these stories teach important life lessons, and I believe that everyone who reads this book will take something valuable from this, and of course because we are humans, we would each take something different. This book is largely based around careers and the issues each person has with it, and thus a personal life lesson each of them has to learn. What I loved about this is that every character feels so REAL, all of their anxieties and dreams feel SO relatable to the masses. We have the mother who is struggling with being a mother and WANTING TO BE MORE with her career, the unemployed man who feels he has failed and has no meaning in life, the woman who feels she has no ambition and doesn’t typically enjoy her life or job, just to name a few.

This book was SO comforting. I love library settings, I love books about books and the books mentioned are REAL books, I may have to go and read some of them to see what I take as an add on experience to this book.
