Lovely in Red by Odessa Hywell
5.0
Hawt
This is my first Odessa story that’s not considered taboo, but let me tell ya this book was so hot I thought my phone was going to go up in flames!
When I’m reading a story you might as well consider me color blind because I’m not paying attention to red flags, and in fact I’m collecting them! But that’s what’s fun about reading, you can escape for a while before coming back to reality!
Atticus is definitely morally gray, but you are rooting for him the whole time. Calix, by some stroke of luck, enjoys Atticus’ brand of ‘crazy’ and wholeheartedly embraces it. He knows what Atticus does is wrong, Atticus knows what he is doing is wrong, but it’s not enough to overcome their all encompassing desire and obsession for each other.
The chemistry between these two is ON POINT. My gawd I can’t decide if it was hotter before they met in person or after. Odessa knows how to write a scene (but I already knew this from prior experience). Atticus has one dirty mouth too.
I was confused about the plot point brought up at the end, as it has no resolution. Will it be brought up in another book? We shall see (hopefully).
