This is such an intense portrayal of depression, anxiety, and miscommunication. Both narrators, Joel Leslie and John Solo do an incredible job with the characters and the emotions contained.

I was a ball of anxiety through this, only holding on knowing there was going to be some sort of happy ending (or at least a HFN). Quellcrest’s inability to reach out, ask for help, or even pick up the phone spoke deeply to me. So heartbreaking to have your mind turn against you. And a new relationship, dealing with the spotlight, and being halfway around the world from each other would be challenging for most couples.

Luckily these two have something special. It’s not easy (sometimes excruciating), but it’s strong, and their (for now)ending makes the anxiousness all worth it. :)

I have no doubt book three in this series will hold just as much emotion (JR never disappoints on the endings!).
