How are we already at the 5th book in this series? I absolutely love Detective Maddison Harper and friend Nate Monroe. If you haven’t read the previous books you could read this as a standalone but you will have a better enjoyment if you have read all the books.

I really felt for Maddison in this book. She was a step behind the killer from the very beginning. If only her dad had been less proud then maybe they could have worked together to catch the killer.

This book doesn’t let up at all. The weather really helps to build the tension and being set on the days around Christmas just makes it all the more heartbreaking. Wendy really pulls you in and has you questioning everyone. It’s fast-paced and filled with suspense from the very first page.
The motive behind these crimes is quite fascinating, as well as horrifying, from a psychological perspective.

If you are looking for a crime thriller which will have you hooked from the beginning til the end then look no further! An excellent addition to the series and I cannot wait for the next one!
