"Is revenge a science, or an art?"
This book was a surprise for me, because when it comes to dark characters I don't usually like morally grey characters , I gotta go either fully white or dark. So Jorg for me was a jolly ol lad. I'm a sucker for 1 pov stories and this was just that, and truth be told I liked Jorg a lot.
"Anything that you cannot sacrifice pins you. Makes you predictable, makes you weak."
Now for the story itself, it has some unexpected twist but considering this is the first book in trilogy it's fairly good, I liked the crew a bit too, I was sad about Nuben thou, but i got over it.
"Strength requires sacrifice. All weakness carries its cost."
The world building the author did here was fairly unexpected, lots of fantasy series make up their own religion and gods and stuff but here its the same as our world. Towards the second half of the book i had to question if this was kind of a dystopian or sci fi novel when they reach a certain door.
"although he never judged, the Nuban carried judgement with him."
Well overall I had a pretty good time
There’s a saying on the road, “Never trust a lettered man.”
